Champadevi Hike

Hiking is the preferred term, in Canada and the United States, for a long, vigorous walk, usually on trails (footpath), in the countryside. The idea of taking a walk in the countryside for pleasure developed in the 18th century, and arose because of changing attitudes to the landscape and nature associated with the Romantic moments.

On the morning of 18th august, we all gathered at kalimati. We took taxi from kalimati to bosan and had heavy breakfast and started our journey with full energy within us. For all its grandeur and immensity, planning a trek in hills isn’t as difficult as you might think. Trekking tourism has been popular in here for decades and Nepalis are excellent hosts. After 3 hours of walk we finally reached champadevi temple which is situated at an altitude of 2285m south-west of Kathmandu. It is a pilgrimage site having Buddhist stupa and a hindu shrine commands. Usually pilgrims visit this place on the full moon day. The trail goes gradually uphill for about half an hour towards the north ridge and then ascends further through the beautiful forest to Champadevi.

It took us almost 2 hours to reach on the top of the hill where we had our lunch. It was one of the best destination to see Kathmandu valley including  lalitpur and bhaktapur and beautiful eye catching mountain ranges such as Everest, ganeshhimal, Annapurna, langtang, gaurishankhar and many more .during hike you can also see bagmati river, khokana, pharphing which are historical places of Nepal. You can see fulchoki hill on your right, chandragiri hills which is the highest hill around Kathmandu on your left. We took some rest and continued our walk again.

It was one of the best, easy, short enjoyable one day hiking trips in the southern hill of Kathmandu valley. Walking through the lush pine forest we reached hattiban resort. When we were leaving the summit trail descends steeply down to the road. It goes through the dense forest which is rich with beautiful birds and other wildlife.

ONE DAY ECO HIKE

Waste management has become complex phenomenon in the context of Kathmandu valley. Waste can be almost anything including litters, garbage, used plastic materials and waste foods, etc. People has always produced waste, however, as the population has grown and so the consumption, waste management has become increasingly complex.

Nepal has been a popular destination and paradise for nature lovers, however, we are yet to do justice to nature to conserve and preserve it.

We all agree to the fact that Kathmandu could have been a beautiful and a better place to live in if it is free from pollution and litter-strewn streets. We all are aware that change starts with an initiation of an individual. Hence, now is the time to consider the city as our home and so the efforts to make our home clean and livable are crucial.

There are approximately...... million people living in Kathmandu valley and it does require a collaborative effort to make a difference. Government alone will not be able to help or do anything until and unless we ourselves start taking care of the waste we produce on a daily basis.

Our small positive effort in our daily routine to manage our own waste could have huge impact in the community. Having said this, we would like to invite your participation for this collaborative effort of making our city clean...

Start a Walking Business

Starting a hiking or walking tour business can be fairly simple, and it offers many benefits to business owners. You do not have to live near a National Park or tourist attraction to make this business work. In fact, there may be multiple hiking or walking business location opportunities right under your nose - and there may be virtually no competition!

 www.travelhubnepal.com

There are also other benefits that a walking or hiking business provides, such as exercise, weight loss, social activity, animal watching or simply getting an escape from a daily routine. If any or all of these activities interest you, this may be your ideal career.

At first glance, a walking business might appear to have little opportunity with a small customer base. But think again. In a hiking business, you have opportunities to lead different types of one-day trips and even expand to week-long hiking adventures to remote locations.

There is not just one target market, either. You can center your business on a certain level of hiker - from beginner to advance. In addition, whiles some people enjoy occasional hiking trips, other hiking enthusiasts want to join a regular hiking club that meets weekly or several times a week.

Another factor to think about when you start your business is location. The sky is almost the limit. You can opt to conduct hikes or tours in one area, or you can add variety to your work schedule by exploring new areas.

You can lead hiking or walking tours in cities, states or even countries. You may even want to package the hikes or walks as organized group trips - with travel and accommodations included.

As expected, the ideal person to operate a hiking or walking business enjoys the company of other people, meeting new people, spending time outdoors and exercising on a routine basis.

When working with groups of people from different backgrounds, having patience and flexibility will make the job easier. If you like teaching, that is an added bonus.

Do not forget your competition. Are there other businesses in your area offering the same or similar service? Ideally, you want to lead hiking or walking tours where you do not have to worry about several other companies competing for the same customers. Less competition makes getting customers much easier.

If there is substantial competition with other hiking or walking groups nearby, consider differentiating your hikes or tours. Sometimes you can lessen or even eliminate competition simply by focusing on a different market like seniors, families with small children or people who want to lose weight.

When it comes to promoting your walks or hikes, you will use different marketing strategies depending upon whether your prospects are local or from out-of-town. Start by printing informational brochures and hiking schedules.

Leave some at your city or county visitor center, chamber of commerce or parks and recreation office. City libraries, cafes and community colleges sometimes allow brochures and flyers to be displayed, and they usually attract lots of people on a regular basis.

Since you will be spending your advertising dollars in the brochures or printed materials rather than ads, make sure you take time to create something interesting and intriguing enough that someone will pick up your marketing pieces and read them.

My top tips ? Get advice from an expert in the walking or hiking field. I am referring to people who have owned a group hiking or walking businesses. Even meeting with someone who leads tours or group activities as a business can be helpful.

You can get lots of insider tips from experienced professionals - and they can often save you a lot of time and effort in starting your own business. If you do not know of anyone in the field, browse your local library or bookstore for start-up guides, usually written by someone who has operated a hiking or walking business before.

Exploring nature, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, work, and daily routine will let you relate to nature in a manner that it generates inner peace, serenity and total wellness.

So whatever location you have picked to hike with friends and family this summer, keep in mind that the great outdoors can be challenging, however, just relax and look forward to your adventure in order to fully enjoy the unique experience such as fresh air, enjoyable sights, noises and sounds of nature.

5 Measure Planning For a Successful Trek in the Himalayas

Trekking in the Himalayas can be a fantastic experience. Preparation of your hiking trip raises your odds of a trekking trip. Proceed to make sure to remember some of the essentials in your preparation.

1. Trekking independently or Together with others

As a general notion, trekking alone in the Himalayas is not highly recommended. The main drawback is that in the event of an accident or a sudden bout of altitude sickness, you can be stranded for days away from civilization. You can't simply get a phone and phone for help. Nonetheless, it is possible to trek alone. The best thing about trekking is that you will be in control of where and when you stop for a rest or settle in at night. On the popular paths you can talk with trekkers and sailors. To prevent trekking alone, ask for hiking partners on some of the online hiking forums. You can hire a guide to go with you.

2. Trekking with a Guide

particularly if it is your first trek, a manual can be a good idea. You simply have to be certain that it's a fantastic guide who respects and knows your wishes. If possible, a face-to-face meeting with a manual prior to trekking is sensible. In many parts of the Himalayas, an area guide can be hired without having to pay a lot of money.

 3. Camping trek vs. Tea-house trek

If you bring your own camping equipment on a trek, or if you're booking a camping trek through a trekking service, you will have extra probability of investigating the more remote mountain locations. It's a great way to escape from the beaten track and avoid the audience of trekkers. But it needs a lot more equipment. In areas like the Nepal Himalayas, it's not difficult to select a trek where you will be staying in family-run lodges along the route. These village lodges / tea-houses are located up to 4000 meters / 13,500 feet elevation and are open throughout the year.

4. In the Himalayas

Trekking in the Himalayas can really be done all year round. But the best time to trek is considered September-October-November for the southern side of the Himalayas, and July-August-September to the northern side of the Himalayas, also referred to as the trans-Himalayas. As there won't be so many trekkers and the weather is mostly clear December-January-February is a fantastic option. But you need to be prepared fall for mountain passes that are shut for days or weeks. Therefore, if you are on a tight schedule, you might have to abort your trek. The weather is generally great, though it can be a bit hazy.

 5. Trekking style

If you are trekking together with friends or other individuals, make sure you agree on your ordinary 'trekking style'. Are you going gradually or fast? Are you currently following the paths or will you be doing off-trail expedition style?

Whether you are an Experienced outdoor person or completely new to hiking preparation and a little bit of background knowledge is always helpful. Stop by my trekking blog that is stuffed with info about hiking in theHimalayas. Is there - to begin, equipment up and the way to find the best areas.

Bandipur Pokhara School Package

The students of grade 9 and 10 of Vidhya Vikash Secondary Boarding School were taken to Bandipur-Pokhara-Sarangkot for 3 days. It was an excursion. Excursions are must, especially for students.

They have a  great educational value and hence, schools often organize excursions for students. Apart from education and exposing students to various experiences, it is a great means of recreation too. It is a day all students wait for eagerly.

On the morning of 21st december, we gathered at the school perifery. We all were very excited. We all left for Bandipur at about 7 AM .

We all weere singing, shouting and dancing in the bus. Our first destination was sidda cave. It is the second largest cave of Asia. Our hiking to the cave was really adventrous and we all were thrilled. Then we all left for Bandipur which is a   living museum of Newari culture. It is a town having row of traditional houses linked with the main street. This town has a laidback charm and contrasts with the rush and pollution of capital Kathmandu. We reached Bandipur at night and stayed in a hotel.

Early morning we went for morning walk to enjoy the beautiful scenes.
Our next destination was Pokhara which is crowned by the majestic himalayas and conjures vision of calm but vibrant green hills. We went in World Peace Stupa there which is a paradise. It is build in top of a hill overlooking phewa lake, and the stupa offers a great place to see the mountains.

We all checked in our hotels inmediately after returning from stupa and after having dinner we left for davis falls. It is a waterfall named after a swiss woman "Davi" who died there.
Although the sun had already started to set, we didn't call it a day and went to phewa lake for boating. We all were mesmarized by its beauty and all of us immediately started boating. We did a quick worship in taal barahi temple and checked in our hotel. We all went to our rooms, got fresh and went for dinner.

We danced and sang for a while and went to bed. We all were said to wake up early in the morning to witness the snow capped mountains and sunrise drom sarangkot which is a hill station near pokhara. We saw unobstructed views of mountains, beautiful green hills and picturesque view of pokhara valley. After observing sunrise we immediately left for hotel, had breakfast in hotel, and left for Begnas lake. The lake which is surrounded by pristine nature and vibrant hills.

Then we returned back to Kathmandu with the same spirit ; shouting and dancing. The only difference was that we were returning with a lot of beautiful and unforgottable moments. Despite being tired of a three day long trip, we all were very much excited to share our travel diaries with our families.

We are also very thankful for our teachers for having organized such a beautiful trip. And on top of that we all really appreciate the works of travel talents(info@traveltalents.com) which has provided us with the best lodging and fooding services. We all are very much thankful to the travel agency.

HIking With Your Dog - Make Sure Your Dog Is Just As Prepared As You

Fall is upon us with all cooler temperatures the amazing leaves and views. What better way to enjoy this season but with walk or a walk through the woods. If you bring your dog with you on your hike it is even more pleasurable. You've purchased wool socks, your new hiking boots and water bottles; place on your layers and that north face fleece but what about your hiking partner that was furry. Have you been making sure that your pet has what they will need to make the increase as enjoyable for them as it's for you. Continue reading to ensure you're prepared to bring your dog hiking in the woods with you.

Preparing or your Hike

The first thing you need to do before walking together dog is to ensure that dogs are allowed on the paths that you're thinking about hiking. Check with the owners of the agency like the State Park Rangers or the Path System agency or property. In the event you do not check 16, you are able to turn a hike into an expensive one.

When you've confirmed that dogs are permitted to hike on the paths make sure that your pet has license tags which are current and your dog has a tag that clearly marks at the least a phone number to phone in case the pet gets lost.

Also make sure that the collar you're using is comfy rather than to tight to constrain or make it hard for the dog to breathe or move while they're on the hike. They'll make just a nimble moves as you.

Has to be considered for the sort of terrain you are hiking. Any leash that is common is going to do if you're hiking in a field with your pet. You can pick a stronger more durable nylon leash but if more rocky terrain are hiking. If their dog is well trained some owners will choose not to use a leash.

I recommend that you always use a leash and hiking gear. As a leash may be a rule check with trail principles. If the terrain is hazardous and by bringing your dog you leave their home or endanger yourself.

Your pet should be present on any vaccinations and flea or tick therapy. You never know what your dog will encounter while out on the hike. Their natures will possess them sneaking up on more animals than you will be aware of, particularly the very small ticks hiding on the grasses. Be certain that their toenails will also be trimmed with your pet prior to hiking.

Long toenails can restrict the contact of the pad on their foot . You can hear clicks of the toenails and if they are walking in home on hardwood or linoleum they're likely too long for trekking.

A good frequency to trimming your pet's nail depending on the rate of growth is all about every few months but use your judgement. In case you have any question about the duration of your pet's nails request your vet.

Do not feed him before you depart, finally before you go hiking with your dog. Like humans get pains and upset stomaches exercising after eating so will your puppy. Instead feed your puppy. It is OK to bring small treats . Bring plenty of water for your furry friend and you.

Bring more water than you need in one increase for you and your furry friend. It's much better to be ready. Don't overlook the bowl either. Many pet shops and outdoor stores take lightweight collapsible bowls which are excellent for hiking.

About the Hike

You opt to allow your dog off the leash around the increase bring one. It is recommended though that you do keep your pet on a leash even if it's well behaved. There have been dogs because the owners trusted that their dog would not run away, lost on hikes. All it requires is fox to have your puppy go running or a little squirrel. From the timber it can acquire disorienting to allow them to find their way back to you and that you find them. In regions keeping your dog can be around you such as hikers and kids that are scared Save yourself and the puppy the trouble and keep them on a leash.

Take a first aid kit along with you and check the condition of your dog's paws every so often. Remember they are hiking barefoot with no protection against twigs or stones. Even on terrain in chilly weather paws could become chaffed or uncooked. See your vet for bites or conditions in your pet paws or for any disease your pet has. Just as for humans that will need to consult their doctors to ensure that the activity they are doing is bad for their health it is just as important to speak with your vet about carrying your dog trekking. The vet will check to make sure their lungs and heart are up to this challenge. They walk. This could be a indication they're exhausted or have hurt themselves. If you believe that they are tired or hurt do not hike. You might have to carry out them if their condition does not permit them to walk.

After your hike and before you both get in the auto check your dog (also it would be sensible to assess yourself) for ticks or other insects that are unwanted. Ticks are especially harmful if they go unnoticed since they can carry diseases. Prevention is the step as I stated earlier. Still, although A quality tick medicine which you get from the veterinarian can prevent ticks' attachment to your pet check the ticks will stay on and can be transferred in the home to other pets or individuals. Be cautious of using low quality manufacturers of tick/flee remediescollars as there can be consequences on my pets when using these and being less powerful.
